We offer seven certificate options through a blend of in-person, hybrid, and remote models. Post-Master’s Certificate Nurse Practitioner students must complete a minimum number of credits and clinical hours to be eligible to sit for the respective national certification exam. Post-Master’s Certificate Nurse Practitioner students who did not complete Advanced Pathophysiology, Advanced Pharmacology, and/or Advanced Health Assessment during their previous graduate studies or prior to admission will be required to take these courses. A gap analysis to determine what/if any additional courses are required for the respective program will be completed by the Specialty/Program Director upon admission.
The following seven certificate options are clinical specialties:
- Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner
- Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner
- Family Nurse Practitioner
- Family Nurse Practitioner in Emergency Care
- Nurse Midwifery
- Pediatric Primary Care Nurse Practitioner
- Pediatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner
For all clinical specialties, theory and practicum courses are co-requisites and must be taken together and successfully completed for program progression.
In-person classes are held at our Newark campus.
