Research-Focused Centers

A Culture of Collaborations

Rutgers School of Nursing is the home of several centers whose work is largely focused on research and scholarship related to health care. Together, they form a nexus for both interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary collaboration in scientific discovery and dissemination of findings to positively impact health care outcomes in the U.S. and beyond.

Center for Health Equity and Systems Research

An initiative of Rutgers School of Nursing, housed within the Division of Nursing Science, the Center for Health Equity and Systems Research provides a hub for rigorous, externally funded research that sheds light on the harmful effects of systemic inequities on health outcomes and quantifies the impact of approaches designed to mitigate them. The center also serves as a hub for systems research that investigates the impact of health care system attributes on staff and patient outcomes, and tests new models of care.

François-Xavier Bagnoud Center

Since 1987, the François-Xavier Bagnoud Center, an initiative of Rutgers School of Nursing, has worked to eliminate barriers to high-quality health care among persons with socially determined health vulnerabilities. In addition, FXB Center researchers have worked to translate evidence into effective statewide and nationwide programming that promotes optimum health and supports the elimination of disparities.
