Program Outcomes

The post-master’s certificate graduate is prepared to:

  • Deliver and/or direct evidence-based, person-centered and population-focused care which builds upon previous and expands on nursing and advanced practice nursing knowledge and is responsive to the social and cultural context of people’s lives.
  • Demonstrate application of current research/best-practices to develop, deliver, and evaluate care to improve health and reduce health disparities across the lifespan and continuum of care.
  • Provide culturally-responsive care to diverse patients, families, and communities with a greater understanding of the complex physiologic processes and social determinants that impact health.
  • Collaborate with interprofessional teams to improve patient care and health outcomes.
  • Demonstrate advanced practice nursing competencies in the education and support of patients and families regarding health promotion, disease prevention, self- and collaborative management of disease and a dignified end-of-life.
  • Promote sustainable practice, health policy, and scholarly activities surrounding the health and health care of patients, families, and communities.
  • Apply concepts of organizational and systems leadership to the advanced practice role.
  • Advocate for health equity and the reduction of health disparities.
