The Educational Opportunity Fund (EOF) is a New Jersey state-legislated program that was created in 1968. It provides access to higher education for students who demonstrate the potential to succeed in college, and possess a high level of academic motivation, who qualify for admission based on academic and financial need.
The School of Nursing EOF (SN-EOF) program was established in 1977 by Dr. Bobbie Jean Perdue. It is the only EOF program in the state tailored to the needs of EOF nursing students. Under state guidelines, the SN-EOF program provides financial, academic, and counseling support services to qualified students who demonstrate potential and need support. SN-EOF Scholars receive a grant that is part of their financial aid package and participate in a range of programs designed to support their success in college, including a pre-college summer institute, counseling, academic advising and coaching, supplemental instruction courses and workshops.
