Samuel and Katherine Barone Family Endowed Scholarship
variable amount; based on merit and financial need; given to full time undergraduate students who are New Jersey residents.
Kenneth and Jane Charlesworth Endowed Nursing Fellowship
variable amount; based on academic merit specifically, the achievement of a 3.4 cumulative average at the undergraduate level if newly admitted or a 3.4 cumulative average at the end of one semester; given to a master’s student.
Kenneth and Jane Charlesworth Endowed Nursing Scholarship
variable amount; based on academic merit, specifically to a student who has achieved a 3.4 cumulative average or higher in his/her first year (freshman) at the College of Nursing or to a transfer student coming in as a sophomore with a cumulative average of 3.4 or higher. Qualified students must submit the appropriate university-approved financial aid form by March lst of each year to be eligible for an award; given to a full-time undergraduate student.
College of Nursing Scholarship
variable amount, depending on money donated through the annual alumni phonothon and private sources; based on merit and financial need; given to incoming undergraduate or transfer students.
Scholars Award (Merit Award)
$4000 annual ($1000 per class) allocated by the University to each college; used for recruitment in the spring; based on merit only; students receive the award each year.
Patricia Scola Memorial Scholarship
variable amount (based on the interest of the original $52,000 endowment); based on merit and financial need. Priority to New Brunswick undergraduate students.
Van Allen Scholarship
variable amount, based on merit and financial need: given to undergraduate students of Hispanic descent.
Van Allen Fellowship
variable amount, based on merit and financial need; given to Graduate students of Hispanic descent.
Zullo Family Endowed Scholarship
variable amount; based on merit and financial need; given to full-time undergraduate students who are New Jersey residents.
Awards
Peplau Writing Award
limited to one $500 annual award; given for outstanding writing ability by an undergraduate or graduate student in the area of psychiatric/mental health nursing.
Elizabeth M. Fenlason Award
variable amount; given to a post-baccalaureate person who intends to pursue graduate study in nursing at Rutgers; attention is given to those students with evidence that supports the applicant’s commitment to graduate education.
Elizabeth M. Fenlason Endowed Fellowship
graduate student award; student must be
enrolled and have a 3.4 or higher grade point average in his/her senior year in the under-graduate program at Rutgers or a new student entering the program with a 3.4 cumulative grade point average. Award is renewable but student must maintain a 3.4 cumulative grade point average.
Joseph M. and Catherine Ruggieri Memorial Award
$500.00 awarded yearly to an undergraduate student honoring academic excellence, leadership and potential for graduate studies in nursing.
Note:
The above scholarships/awards are under the aegis of the College of Nursing. There are several other scholarships but they the are administered by the University such as Carr Scholars, Outstanding Scholars, Presidential Scholars and Provost Scholarship. The College of Nursing staff is only responsible for approving renewals yearly.
