Aline M. Holmes is the former senior vice president for clinical affairs at the New Jersey Hospital Association in Princeton.  She has worked as a chief nursing officer/chief operating officer in several hospitals in Washington DC, Chicago and New Jersey prior to joining the hospital association.  She has also worked in long term care.  Her work in quality and patient safety has been her passion for the past twenty years, directing the NJ Hospital Improvement Innovation Network, funded by the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation and establishing the NJ Perinatal Quality Collaborative with funding from CDC.  Other funded projects (Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, NJ Health Initiatives and the Healthcare Foundation of New Jersey) have resulted in improvement in quality and safety, nursing workforce, veterans’ healthcare and disparities in care.  Dr. Holmes has been an active member of several state and national nursing organizations, and is currently on the boards of the American College of Medical Quality and the American Board of Medical Quality.  She is a reviewer for the American Journal of Medical Quality and has had several articles on her work published.  She is on the board of the Visiting Nurse Association New Jersey and is an appointed member of the NJ Advisory Committee on the Status of Women (NJACSW).
