We believe that interprofessional collaboration among health care providers is an essential part of improving the quality and value of health care.
As part of the School of Nursing, we have partnered with the School of Health Professions, Doctor of Physical Therapy Program to implement two interprofessional learning experiences.
Respiratory Therapy/Nursing Respiratory Assessment Lab
Led by Rutgers School of Nursing, this event brings respiratory therapy and nursing students together in an active learning environment to learn proper technique for a respiratory assessment.
Physical Therapy/Nursing Transfer Lab
Led by the School of Health Professions, respiratory therapists facilitate various “patient” stations that allow for respiratory and nursing students to accomplish safe and efficient patient transfers.
We are always looking for collaborative partners.
Please contact Debora Tracey (firstname.lastname@example.org), assistant dean of the Center for Clinical Learning by email or submit a request to use Center for Clinical Learning space or other resources to discuss the creation of an interprofessional educational opportunity.
