Award Setup

If your grant application is funded, you will be notified as follows:

  1. If your grant or cooperative agreement is from a state or federal agency, you will receive notice from the Rutgers Office of Sponsored Research.
  2. If an award is made by a foundation or corporate sponsor, the award notice and contract may be issued directly to you. In this case, please forward all documents to the Executive Director of Research (TBA) for processing.

Once the award notice is received, our office will assist you with contract processing and any necessary budget revisions. We will initiate the account setup and notify you when your account has been established. Depending on the nature of the award, representatives from our team and the Finance Office may schedule a meeting to discuss the account and your responsibilities under the award.

If subawards or services agreements are required, these documents will be prepared by a grants coordinator, who will work with you to complete a statement of work (SOW) for each agreement. The SOW should be consistent with the responsibilities described in the grant application, but will usually contain additional details about the commitment of, frequency of interaction with, and expected deliverables from your collaborators. In addition, the grants coordinator will provide assistance with progress reports, prior approval requests, and more general communication with sponsors.
