Interprofessional Education
As nurses, we believe that interprofessional collaboration among healthcare providers is an essential part of improving the quality and value of patient care. With Rutgers Health we offer undergraduate and graduate students a variety of opportunities to participate in interprofessional (IPE) learning experiences. Undergraduate nursing students are required to participate in a minimum of two IPE experiences during their clinical nursing courses. Students should refer to their IPE canvas course for more information.
Collaborations
The Division of Simulation and Clinical Learning welcomes opportunities to collaborate on simulated and clinical learning projects. Please contact Christine Repsha by email or submit a request to use Simulation and Clinical Learning space or other resources to discuss the creation of an interprofessional educational opportunity.
SCARLET
The Division of Simulation and Clinical Learning is a member of SCARLET: Simulation Collaboration Advancing Research, Learning, Education and Training at Rutgers Health. SCARLET was created to bring educators involved in simulation from across Rutgers Health together for support, collaboration, and idea sharing. This network of simulation experts promotes use of best practices in simulation education across the institution. By working together we are able to advance simulation and align processes.
Current Partners
As part of the School of Nursing, we have partnered with the School of Health Professions, Doctor of Physical Therapy Program to implement two interprofessional learning experiences.
Physical Therapy/Nursing Transfer Lab
Led by the School of Health Professions, respiratory therapists facilitate various “patient” stations that allow for respiratory and nursing students to accomplish safe and efficient patient transfers.
Prospective Partners
We are always looking for collaborative partners.
