Description

This course will review the mechanism of action, variations, risks vs. benefits, and common complications vs. adverse events of both neurotoxin and fillers used in aesthetics for facial rejuvenation.

Students will demonstrate proper technique regarding the injection of neurotoxin and fillers and identify the appropriate landmarks and no injections zones. This will be tested using a post knowledge quiz and individual observed demonstration of appropriate guided technique using a competency checklist.

Objectives

Upon completion of this course, participants should be better able to:

  1. Understand the purpose and MOA of botulinum toxin injections and aesthetics facial fillers.
  2. Recognize the botulinum toxin A and temporary filler products on the market and identify main clinically significant differences.
  3. Describe the common complications and potentially adverse reactions and treatments/remedies of aesthetics injections.
  4. Identify the appropriate candidate for botulinum toxin A injections and temporary facial fillers.
  5. List common injection sites used in aesthetics for facial rejuvenation.
  6. Demonstrate appropriate aseptic technique and placement of aesthetics injectables.
