Our mission is to create new and enhance existing globally focused activities at the School of Nursing in the domains of research, education, and service learning. Our programs include the Global Nursing Research Collaborative, student service learning trips, visiting scholars, and globally focused lectures.

Our vision is a globally connected School of Nursing with students and faculty engaged in global health work, using our nursing expertise to improve health outcomes and build nursing capacity around the world.

  • As we celebrated the International Year of the Nurse and Midwife and World Health Day, we also celebrated the much-awaited State of the World’s Nursing Report 2020 (SoWN).  This research-based report is the cumulative effort of the World Health Organization,  the International Council of Nurses and Nursing Now.144 page State of the World’s Nursing Report.  The key points are related to education, employment and leadership.

  • The UN hosted a briefing in celebration of the International Year of the Nurse and Midwife on World Health Day.  There are many wonderful speakers representing professional nursing organizations and WHO. The briefing also includes words of appreciation from the UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres and highlights the key points of the report to offer insight into the current state of the world’s nurses and midwives.
