Setting Our Scholars Up for Success
Rutgers School of Nursing has a robust internal infrastructure to support our faculty and student scholars who are pursuing research discoveries that benefit communities in New Jersey and around the world.
Support Along Every Step of the Way
The Office of Research Services, Contracts, and Grants within the School of Nursing provides guidance, consultation, and technical support to all research and sponsored programs initiated by faculty and students.
- Identifying potential funding sources
- Explaining funding requirements, protocol format, and content
- Assisting with budget development
- Helping with proposal editing and submission
- Guiding post-award management and reporting, including regulation compliance
Investing in Nurse Scientists
Most novice, junior faculty, who are research-focused, who come to us as tenure-track assistant professors, are given a minimum of three years of 75% protected effort to focus on their programs of research. We are one of the few nursing schools that offer this level of investment in developing faculty as nurse scientists.
High-Profile Funding
Our faculty scholars have received highly competitive grants from important private foundations and federal agencies including:
- National Institutes of Health (NIH)
- Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA)
- Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ)
- Institute of Human Virology
Access to Rutgers Research Resources
In-house experts at Rutgers School of Nursing include statisticians, mentors specializing in NIH proposal development, certified Institutional Review Board (IRB) managers, manuscript editors, technical analysts, and grant management specialists who provide pre-award and post-award services.
In addition to our internal support services, Rutgers University provides a host of other research-related services.
