A pediatric acute care certified nurse practitioner with over 11 years in advanced practice nursing and over 16 years in pediatric nursing in various surgical and critical care settings, both in the US and the United Kingdom. She currently holds the rank of clinical instructor as faculty in the Rutgers School of Nursing Dual Pediatric Primary/Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Program, and also serves as acute care track coordinator where she has developed and implemented each acute care course in th enew program. She has dedicated the majority of her clinical practice to children with congenital heart disease and acute surgical conditions, with a focus on bedside education for nurses to improve quality outcomes for children undergoing surgical interventions. Current hospital/clinical appointments include NYU Langone Medical Center in Manhattan, NY, The Bristol-Meyers Squibb Children’s Hospital at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, NJ, and Jersey Shore University Hospital in Neptune, NJ.
She earned her BSN from The College of New Jersey, MSN at the University of Pennsylvania (Pediatric Critical Care Nurse Practitioner Program), and is currently a Doctoral candidate in the Rutgers University DNP Program, Practice Model.
The advancement and incorporation of simulation into pediatric advanced practice nursing curriculums to better align with the AACN Essentials surrounding competency-based education. Enhanced recovery after surgery for pediatric patients.
Vast experience in pediatric critical care and surgical subspecialties, with a focus in pediatric congenital heart disease and other congenital defects.
