Bernadette is an Instructional Designer with the Rutgers School of Nursing. She is a proud Rutgers alumnus earning both her MEd in Adult and Continuing Education from the Rutgers School of Education and her BA in Information Processing Systems from Rutgers NCAS. Prior to joining Academic Support Services at SoN, she supported Rutgers Faculty and staff at Teaching and Learning with Technology-TLT for 13 years.  Bernadette’s love for lifelong learning has led to a Certificate in Educational Technology as well as Project Management.

Responsibilities include:

  • Generate processes for efficient course design and contribute to the development of design templates and best practices for course design 
  • Collaborate with School of Nursing Faculty to coordinate the creation of synchronous and asynchronous learning content and activities.
  • Assist in developing web-based and multimedia instructional materials to support teaching and learning.  
  • Design, develop and deliver professional and technical training for faculty on current technologies
  • Provide support for faculty and students in the use of the learning management system and other instructional technologies supported by the School of Nursing  
  • Provide support for faculty to assist them with integrating technology into their curriculum  
  • Support faculty in creating appropriate content for online courses that may include video, photos, audio, tests, quizzes, and interactive activities
