Dr. Angela Otto-Ryan is a board-certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner and faculty instructor in the Division of Entry to Baccalaureate Nursing at Rutgers University. She teaches both didactic and clinical courses in Nursing Care of Infants, Children, and Adolescents. In addition to her academic role, Dr. Otto-Ryan practices as a pediatric nurse practitioner at a federally qualified health center, providing essential care to underserved communities. She holds certifications in pediatric primary care and breastfeeding counseling and is a proud 2021 Fellow of The Boggs Center’s Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and Related Disabilities (LEND) program. Her professional affiliations include the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners, Society for Developmental & Behavioral Pediatrics, Academy of Breastfeeding Medicine, and the Institute for the Advancement of Breastfeeding Medicine.
Dr. Otto-Ryan is deeply passionate about serving underserved and underrepresented children. She believes that every child, regardless of their background or circumstances, deserves access to compassionate, high-quality healthcare. Aware of the unique challenges these children often face—such as barriers to medical services and social inequities—Dr. Otto-Ryan is committed to addressing and overcoming these obstacles. She approaches care with empathy, cultural sensitivity, and resourcefulness, ensuring that each patient’s unique needs are met.
