Please remember to complete the following items:

  • Upload your photo to receive your student ID card (if you have not done so already)
  • Bring a wireless device (tablet, laptop, etc.) to use during sessions (don’t forget your charger)
  • Plan to arrive at 6:50 am, breakfast and lunch will be served.

Note: You will not register for classes at orientation. You will be registered at a later date by the Registrar’s office.

Parking

  • Public Parking Deck: The closest public parking deck is Parking Deck P3 which is located on 12th Avenue which is a short walk to 65 Bergen Street. Entrance tickets to park at the public deck are not validated/will not be reimbursed by the School of Nursing.
  • On-Campus Parking: On-campus parking is available if you have purchased a Student  Parking Permit for the semester (http://rudots.rutgers.edu/legacy.shtml)
  • If parking on the RBHS campus, please do not park in “RESERVED, GUARANTEED or KinderCare” parking spaces.  For general questions regarding parking, please send an email to info_dots@ipo.rutgers.edu or call (973) 353-1839.
  • Metered Parking: Use the ParkMobile app for convenience, the cost is $9.50 daily.

Technology accounts and devices

If you have trouble setting up your accounts, please see the Student Computing page.

  1.  Net ID – Activation of NetIDs may take a few days.– if your NetID is not active, please wait a few days then try again. 
    • Students that are new to Rutgers – You must activate your NetID before proceeding with many of the other steps on this page.
    • Re-enrolled students – NetIDs may not be activated until after you have been registered for Summer 2024 classes. Your Net ID stays the same as the one from your previous enrollment at the University.  You must activate your NetID before proceeding with many of the other steps on this page.
  2.  School Email **
    – Important: sn.rutgers.edu is the official e-mail account for the School of Nursing, not Scarletmail. Please make sure that sn.rutgers.edu is your default email. Go to Manage email addresses. Select your “@sn.rutgers.edu” as the default email. Access your sn.rutgers.edu email at connect.rutgers.edu

    How to access School of Nursing email
    Go to connect.rutgers.edu
    Enter your School of Nursing Email YourNetID@sn.rutgers.edu
    Enter the password associated with your NetID
    Set the time zone
  3. MyRutgers Student Portal** – Students manage their student accounts and access many of the school services through their student portal. We call it “myRutgers”, located at my.rutgers.edu
    **Re-Enrolled students: you may not be able to complete this step after you are registered for Summer 2024 classes.
  4. Bring Your Own Device (BYOD)” – Each student is required to have their own personal computer. Chromebooks or tablets do not allow students to fully use the testing software.

Health Insurance

Health Insurance
All nursing students must have health insurance.  Students are automatically enrolled in the Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP). 

Here are instructions to waive the Student Health Insurance Plan:

  1. Go to www.universityhealthplans.com
  2. Type in Rutgers, select Rutgers from the drop-down and click Continue.
  3. Click on the bar: Undergraduate/Graduate 
  4. Select the box: “A + 8 DIGITS”
  5. This brings you to the introduction page.
  6. On the left–choose the “waiver form.”
