Basic Health Assessment Course

Online course, 24 contact hours.

The purpose of this online intensive course is to enhance the health/physical assessment skills of nurses who function in hospitals, long-term care facilities, schools, community health, and industrial settings.  An organized and systematic approach to health assessment will enable participants to utilize interviewing techniques to obtain and record a comprehensive health history and apply clinical skills. Participants will develop competence in identifying, describing, and recording normal findings.

You will be able to complete the course at your own pace and time. However, you will have 1 month to complete the course. Upon completion of the online coursework, you will be required to take a practicum and final examination. The practicum exam will be administered and proctored online.

Successful completion of the course includes obtaining passing grades on both the final exam and final practicum.

Please note this is a continuing education course that provides CEUs and a certificate of completion only. It does not offer college credits, a transcript, or a letter grade, and is not eligible for credit transfer.

You will be added to the online course in Rutgers Canvas on the first day of class. You will receive an invitation to the course via email.
