CCT-to-RN Employment Program

Get a head start on your nursing career with a training and placement program built for you.

Start your path from student, to trained clinical care technician (CCT), to RWJBarnabas Health (RWWJBH) registered nurse through this exclusive partnership between Rutgers School of Nursing and Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital (RWJUH).

Through the CCT-to-RN program, incoming junior nursing students have the chance to receive paid training and employment as a CCT, and transition into a contracted RN role at RWJUH upon graduation and successfully passing the NCLEX exam.

Application criteria

  • Rutgers School of Nursing juniors
  • Minimum 3.2 GPA
  • Successful completion of one clinical rotation
  • Endorsement from a Rutgers faculty member
  • Unofficial transcripts are acceptable

Program Requirements

  • All candidates will go through the complete RWJUH application and interview process, which will include interviews with nursing leadership.
  • All candidates are required to complete the RWJUH onboarding process which includes attendance to CCT orientation.
  • CCT’s who are employees in good standing will be offered a 2-year contract position within RWJBH
  • A 2-year contract for employment within RWJBH as an RN is required
