Rutgers Nursing launches new pediatrics programs for Fall 2021
March 3, 2021
New dual DNP and post-master’s certificate programs give nurses more options to advance their education in pediatric nursing.
Rutgers School of Nursing has launched two new pediatrics programs that will begin this fall—a post-bachelor’s doctor of nursing practice (DNP) Dual Pediatric Primary/Acute Care Nurse Practitioner program, and a Pediatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner post-master’s certificate program.
The programs add to the existing pediatrics offerings at Rutgers School of Nursing—a primary-care-focused pediatric nurse practitioner program and a post-master’s certificate program—creating a full suite of advanced education options in primary and acute pediatric care.
“We are the only regional DNP degree program for pediatric nurse practitioner education,” said Margaret Quinn (DNP, RN, CPNP, CNE), clinical associate professor and specialty director of the Pediatric Nurse Practitioner programs at Rutgers School of Nursing. “With the addition of our newest programs, we will offer comprehensive educational options for nurses at all levels of their career. We are very excited to be the only program in the state to offer a dual certification DNP and an acute care post master’s certification program.”
Applications are open for the Pediatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner post-master’s certificate program and will soon open for the Dual Pediatric Primary/Acute Care Nurse Practitioner program.
