Jeannette Manchester, DNP, RN, joined the Rutgers School of Nursing as Director for the Center for Professional Development and Assistant Professor on August 3, 2015. Dr. Manchester was most recently the Director of the Department of Education and Professional Development at University Hospital, in Newark, NJ. Dr. Manchester was responsible for operational leadership of the Department of Education at the hospital. In this role, she provided oversight for the facilitation, organization, implementation, and evaluation of all staff education programs.
Prior to University Hospital, Dr. Manchester worked at the National League for Nursing where she was the Manager of Professional Development. While at the NLN, she directed all professional development activities; producing continuing education programs for faculty from conception to execution for all 34,000 members of the league across the country.
Dr. Manchester has also held positions as a nurse educator, critical care transport nurse, and staff nurse for various health systems. Dr. Manchester completed her DNP at UMDNJ, School of Nursing, and holds a master’s in nursing education from Ramapo College, a BSN from Seton Hall University, and a BA in psychology from Rutgers University. She is currently pursuing her MBA at Rutgers School of Business.
