FXB Center HIV Clinical Practice team recognized for outstanding frontline service aimed at advancing health equity
The HIV Clinical Practice at Rutgers School of Nursing’s François-Xavier Bagnoud (FXB) Center has received the inaugural Pride of Rutgers in Frontline Service Award as part of the university’s annual Presidential Employee Excellence Recognition Program, now in its third year.
The new award honors frontline health care employees whose exceptional performance, compassion, and professionalism enhance patient care across Rutgers. Awardees will be recognized at a university reception next month at the Rutgers Club in New Brunswick.
Based in Newark, the François-Xavier Bagnoud HIV Clinical Practice provides coordinated, patient-centered care for approximately 100 people living with HIV, and their families. The interprofessional team offers comprehensive medical, psychosocial, and supportive services that promote wellness and improve quality of life.
Since its establishment in 1985, the FXB Center has worked locally and globally to advance health equity and improve outcomes for individuals, families and communities through clinical care and case management, education and training, research, and workforce development.
“I am so proud of our FXB Clinical Practice team for this earning this prestigious award,” said Angela Starkweather (PhD, RN, FAANP, FAAN), dean and professor at Rutgers School of Nursing. “Their daily work represents the heart of who we are as a school—skilled, caring professionals who go above and beyond to make a difference in people’s lives.”
