Dr. Andre Rosario is a nurse scientist, historian of nursing, and Presidential Postdoctoral Associate at Rutgers School of Nursing. His research focuses on the history of Filipino nurse migration to the United States and health workforce policies related to international nurse migration. During his postdoctoral fellowship, Andre is pursuing new research projects related to dementia’s impact on older Filipino Americans and their families.
Prior to joining Rutgers, Andre earned his PhD in Nursing at the University of Pennsylvania, where he was affiliated with the Barbara Bates Center for the Study of the History of Nursing. His historical research has been supported by grants from the American Association for the History of Nursing and other institutional sources. While at Penn, Andre earned the School of Nursing’s Teaching Assistant Award as well as the Teresa I. Lynch Award for leadership and citizenship in his academic community. Clinically, Andre is a certified medical-surgical registered nurse.
