Overview
The goal of this online, asynchronous workshop is to expand continuing education opportunities for midwifery preceptors and improve training for students in the clinical setting. This initiative is part of a statewide strategic plan in New Jersey to improve perinatal health outcomes including expansion of the midwifery workforce.
Proceeds will go to the Midwifery Education Scholarship Fund.

Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, the learner will be able to:
- Analyze the multifaceted role of the midwifery preceptor in shaping clinical education for student midwives.
- Identify key questions to proactively address before precepting a midwifery student.
- Evaluate the benefits of precepting for midwives, considering both professional and personal development.
- Articulate the qualities of a successful preceptor who fosters optimal clinical development in student midwives.
- Develop strategies to anticipate and overcome common challenges encountered during midwifery preceptorship.
