More about Licensed Practical Nursing

LPN education programs are typically completed in a year or more, at a vocational or technical school, community college, or for-profit private school. Once the education and training is completed, the LPN needs to pass the NCLEX-PN exam in order to practice and be licensed by the NJ Board of Nursing. LPNs typically work in non-hospital settings such as long-term-care facilities and home care agencies, and usually report to a registered nurse (RN) or physician (MD).
