Basic Health Assessment Course (online)
Online
The purpose of this online intensive course is to enhance the health/physical assessment skills of nurses who function in hospitals, long-term care facilities, schools, community health, and industrial settings. An organized and systematic approach to health assessment will enable participants to utilize interviewing techniques to obtain and record a comprehensive health history and apply clinical skills. Participants will develop competence in identifying, describing, and recording normal findings.
An email with instructions for Rutgers Canvas online access will be sent from cpdn@sn.rutgers.edu (check spam) on the first day the course begins. Although this course is self-paced, you will have one (1) month to complete it. Upon completing all coursework, you must take a practicum and final examination. Successful completion of the course includes obtaining passing grades on both the final exam and final practicum. An instructor will administer and proctor the practicum exam online. This course meets the requirements for entry into the Rutgers School of Nursing graduate nursing programs and may be submitted for review by other nursing graduate programs.
