As a Nurse Scientist at NJ Collaborating Center for Nursing and Hackensack Meridian Health, Dr. Weaver advances nursing science by championing underexplored workforces: administrative supervisors, night-shift nurses, and Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs). Her seminal research redefined the administrative (house) supervisor role elevating it into a recognized specialty. She has published 20 peer-reviewed articles, developed the first-ever supervisor functional competencies, and founded state and national conference series with the Organization of Nurse Leaders New Jersey (ONLNJ) and American Organization for Nursing Leadership. She translated her night-shift fatigue research into national policy as Lead for the American Nurses Association’s Nurse Fatigue Position Statement revision. As a founding member of the ONLNJ Nursing Workplace Environment and Staffing Councils, she helped implement initiatives addressing night-shift nurse fatigue.
Dr. Weaver earned her BSN from Penn State University, MSN from Seton Hall University, and PhD from Rutgers, the State University of NJ.
Dr. Weaver also secured a quarter-million dollars in grant funding from the National Council of State Boards of Nursing for LPN scope-of-practice studies.
