The School of Nursing, in all locations, will transition in-person nursing classes to remote format on Tuesday, 10/26/21. In-person student clinicals for Tuesday, 10/26, are cancelled in all locations. Students should contact their faculty members with any questions related to classes.
Faculty and staff who would normally work in person should work remotely on Tuesday, 10/26.
Normal operations are expected to resume at 6:00 a.m. on Wednesday, 10/27/2021

2nd Degree Student Council Community Ambassadors

Community ambassadors represent Rutgers School of Nursing at community events and special programs. They’re outgoing and highly motivated students who have volunteered at hospitals, after-school programs, soup kitchens, local health clinics, and more! Become a community ambassador and network with the greater Rutgers and Newark communities at large.


Community Ambassadors

There are 10 community ambassadors per campus. As an ambassador, you must:

  • Attend at least two 2nd Degree Student Council meetings per semester
  • Contribute a minimum of 10 hours of community service work per semester
  • Attend all ambassador meetings
  • Have strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Conduct yourself professionally on and off campus
  • Have a minimum of 3.25 GPA
  • Have prior involvement in university- and/or community-based activities (preferred)

Community Ambassador Campus Coordinator

There is one community ambassador campus coordinator per campus. As a campus coordinator, you must:

  • Attend all 2nd Degree Student Council meetings
  • Attend one Student Senate General Body meeting per semester
  • Attend the Annual Student Leadership Retreat
  • Check programming schedules for uniformity and submit them to the Student Council Presidents
  • Submit a monthly report documenting community service activities to the 2nd Degree Council President
  • Be a full-time undergraduate student in the School of Nursing
  • Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5
  • Have previous student leadership and/or previous community ambassador experience (preferred)
