This online course highlights how both adults and children are affected by an attack as well as how a community responds to such an event. There is a discussion of stress and grief reactions, and coping strategies are discussed as well as the mini-mental examination. Common psychological responses to an attack are discussed. These responses include: anxiety, panic attacks, post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and acute stress disorder, summarization disorder. Stress management for the nurse as well as general stress management are discussed.
