Influenza (The Flu): What Health Care Professionals Should Know (Includes Avian Flu)

Influenza is considered to be a potential agent for bioterrorism as a possible Category C agent. This course will provide information on the etiology, epidemiology, transmission of influenza virus, incubation period, clinical picture, complications, diagnostic procedures, treatment prevention aspects of vaccination are discussed and management. There is also a special section on the Avian Influenza virus that discusses transmission, laboratory tests and isolation precautions.
