Biological Weapons: Essential Information on Category B Agents

This online course discusses general information about bioterror agents and specific information about those in CDC category B including alphaviruses (eastern and western equine encephalomyelitis, Venezuelan encephalomyelitis), Clostridium perfringens epsilon toxin, Q fever, ricin toxin, Staphylococcus enterotoxin B, and the following food or water-borne pathogens: Cryptosporidium parvum, Escherichia coli O157:H7, Salmonella spp., Shigella dysenteriae, and Vibrio-cholerae. Specifics include epidemiology, etiology, transmission, clinical manifestations, treatment, management and infection control, vaccination, and more with specific nursing information.
