RN Re-Entry into Practice: A Unique Refresher Course - Fall 2008

This refresher course is designed to provide inactive nurses with an update of both the theoretical content and clinical practice needed to return to employment in nursing.  Knowledgeable faculty in a supportive environment will assist the nurse who wishes to return to bedside nursing in gaining confidence and refreshing skills in order to be able to function on adult units.  Content will include the nursing process, nursing assessment, legal-ethical issues, common IV and drug therapy and medical-surgical conditions encountered in contemporary practice.  Participants will have some opportunity to observe on specialty units during their clinical experience.  A Rutgers The State University College of Nursing certificate will be awarded upon completion of the program.

Who Should Attend: Inactive registered nurses who are considering returning to full or part-time employment.
            
NOTE:  Nurses from other states are required to have a valid New Jersey license; thus, they must apply for an endorsement from the New Jersey Board of Nursing (973-504-6430) in order to participate in clinical practice.  If applying for a license, you must allow at least 6 weeks for the application process through the New Jersey State Board of Nursing for a permission letter to do clinical practice under supervision.
 

Enrollment for this course is limited to 20 nurses.

Fee: $1395 (Includes extensive Instructional materials, classroom instruction and clinical practice supervision)
Credits: Rutgers Certificate and 140 Contact Hours
Faculty: All faculty are Master's prepared and are clinically active.
