When is the application deadline?
The priority application deadline is January 15 of each year. Applications received after this date will be reviewed on a space-available basis only.
Is there a separate application I must fill out to be considered for admission to the College of Nursing?
No. You must complete the general Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey Undergraduate application. You will be able to select either College of Nursing – Newark or College of Nursing – New Brunswick under the Program Choices section of the application.
Where can I complete an application?
Applications must be completed online at http://www.admissions.rutgers.edu. Paper applications no longer exist.

Is the RN-BS/MS in Nursing Program offered as an evening or weekend program?
Students may pursue a baccalaureate degree at Rutgers on a part-time or full time basis. The College of Nursing does not offer an evening or weekend program.
What are the requirements for admission into the RN-BS/MS program?
- Transfer students must submit both official high school and undergraduate transcripts.
- Grade point average of 3.0 or higher (Students are selected on a competitive basis therefore the GPA required for an actual offer of admission may be higher depending on the applicant pool)
- Evidence of strong performance in high school science coursework
