Appeals to the Transfer of Credit Evaluation
Students who wish to appeal their transfer evaluation to the College of Nursing must do so within 30 days of receiving their official transfer credit evaluation.
1. Students who attended a New Jersey Community college should refer to NJTransfer.org to determine the proper evaluation of any given course offered at a New Jersey Community College. If the transfer evaluation and NJTransfer.org are in disagreement the student should notify the Office of Student Affairs via email to bhoward@rutgers.edu. The email should include the student name, RUID, and the specific information detailing the error. All clerical errors will be corrected promptly and the student will be notified by return email within 30 days.
2. Students appealing the nature of the evaluation as correctly stated on NJTransfer.org, shall provide a syllabus of the course in question to the Office of Student Affairs to Mr. Bruce Howard (973.353.1178) or bhoward@rutgers.edu to re-evaluate the course. If additional materials, such as completed assignments, tests, are available, they should be submitted as supplementary material. If the course was taken at a NJ Community College, please submit the appropriate printed page from the NJ Transfer website.3. The Office of Student Affairs will provide a decision to the student within 60 days of receipt of the appeal. The decision of the college is final. The relevant community college will be informed of the nature of the appeal and the decision by the College of Nursing
4. If the course in question is a liberal arts course, the syllabus and request for reāevaluation may be addressed to the corresponding department at SAS, SEBS or NCAS.Transfer Evaluation Appeals for Students Transferring from Schools Other than NJ Community Colleges
Students shall submit a syllabus of the course in question to the Office of Student Affairs. If the Associate Dean for Undergraduate Education agrees that the evaluation for the course needs to be updated the Office of Student Affairs will be notified. Upon such notification, the student's record will be adjusted accordingly within 30 days of receipt of notification from the academic dean.
