Key Duties

  • Reporting to the Vice Dean for Administration and Student Services, areas of responsibility include oversight of all faculty and staff personnel services.
  • Responsible for the faculty appointment, promotion, review and tenure processes, faculty recruitment across all programs, and maintenance of faculty workload tracking.
  • Advises to the dynamic and complex organizational structure of the School of Nursing, hiring and discipline within the school, compliance of faculty and staff, and orientation of new faculty, administration, and staff.
  • Understands and communicates the policies and procedures of the nine unions representing the faculty and staff of the School of Nursing while maintaining relationships with appropriate departments across the university such as University Human Resources, Academic Labor Relations, and Payroll.
  • Is involved with the training, orientation, and compliance for Faculty and Staff: creates efficient systems for training of new faculty and staff and educates all faculty and staff of compliance requirements and effectively track employee compliance.
  • Manages recruitment activities such as advertisements, relationships with external staff and faculty recruitment agencies, attendance at relevant conferences, and all other necessary measures to ensure solicitation of excellent candidates for roles within the School of Nursing.
  • Supervises staff and workflow of the Faculty and Staff Resources department for the School of Nursing.

  • Maintains Faculty Information System (FIS) and Provide Information for Faculty Surveys and Other Related Reports:  Maintain Faculty Personnel Files.

  • Supports the management of faculty affairs, with oversight from the director.
  • Prepares POs and is the primary preparer in HCM (PeopleSoft).  Works with the business office with regard to commitment accounting matters
  • Enters jobs to the ROCS human resources system. Enters new hires, and reappointments, for the School of Nursing.
  • Primary contact for Faculty, Development Director, Office of the Dean, and various centers in terms of updates and salary disclosures.
  • Coordinates faculty events and appropriate logistics, communicates with faculty, staff, guests, and vendors.

  • Enters and processes payroll activities, including faculty, staff, and students

Key Duties

  • Recruitment of Faculty and Senior Administrators: The EC will use traditional and innovative methods to advertise School of Nursing positions while actively recruiting high quality candidates. Internally, the EC will coordinate interviews, setup search committees, and prepare all documentation in support of the onboarding process including travel arrangements for senior level faculty and administrator onboarding.  Externally, the EC will handle all communication and accommodations for candidates
  • Recruitment of Students: The EC will collaborate with the Office of Student Recruitment within the School of Nursing to assist with the recruitment of students.  The EC will travel to conferences to recruit students, assist with the planning and execution of open houses, and will suggest innovative methods for student recruitment.
  • Data management, Research and Marketing: The EC will keep records of each search and its outcomes. In addition will research target audiences utilizing marketing techniques.
  • Enters faculty jobs to the ROCS human resources system.
