World AIDS Day Event 2017
Prepping for PrEP (12/7/17) - Newark, NJ
This event focused on increasing awareness of and access to Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) to curtail HIV’s spread.
- Keynote: Dr. Demetre Daskalakis, MD, MPH, activist, researcher, and the current Deputy Commissioner of Disease Control at the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene
- Panel: Composed of health experts, researchers, PrEP users, and community organizers, who will highlight the benefits and challenges associated with PrEP adoption for HIV prevention.
- Closing Keynote: Steve Saunders, MS, the Director of HIV Prevention and Education, Public Health Services Branch, Division of HIV, STD, and TB Services, New Jersey Department of Health.
The courses are designed as an elective for Nursing students, but is open to students from other health professions.
