CDC: Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices

The CDC released its 2005 recommendations for the Prevention and Control of Influenza on July 29, 2005. Primary changes and updates in the recommendations included:
- all individuals with any condition that can compromise respiratory function be vaccinated against influenza
- all health care workers should be vaccinated against influenza annually
- use of both vaccines (inactivated and LAIV) is encouraged for eligible individuals every influenza season.
