Student Advisement and Registration

Undergraduate Student Advisement

Undergraduate students receive course advisement from the Office of Student Services during advisement sessions. During this time, the undergraduate program coordinator, along with the Student Services staff, advise undergraduate students on course progression and assist in any technical issues associated with registration.

Check the Student Services Announcements page for updates on scheduling for the next advisement session!

Members of the faculty provide career and industry advisement to undergraduate College of Nursing students. Students who wish to seek career and industry-specific advisement are matched with a faculty member upon request.

For questions regarding advising, please contact:

Graduate Student Advisement

Graduate students receive course advisement by members of the graduate education faculty and specialty directors. Students should seek advisement by faculty advisors prior to registering for each semester. Please refer to the Graduate Student Advisement List to confirm student/advisor assignments (available in Blackboard).

To access your advisor assignment, log in to Blackboard and select the Community tab at the top of the page. On the Community tab, select the College of Nursing - Graduate Students link located under My Organizations Plus. Finally, open the Student Advisement folder.

Registration Resources

*Clinical clearance deadlines are very close to registration deadlines. Because of the clinical requirement of nursing students, it is absolutely important for all students, once registered for the following semester, to begin working toward clearance for the semester if clinical courses are selected.

Transferring Courses Into the College of Nursing

All transfer credits must be approved by the appropriate academic dean and all requests must include submission of relevant course syllabi. Transfer credits will be granted for core courses only. In addition, please note that transfer credits will not appear on the Rutgers University transcript until 12 credits have been completed at Rutgers University. Please see the College of Nursing official policy on transferring credits credit into academic programs.
