PRINCETON DERMATOLOGY ASSOCIATES
FELLOWSHIP OPPORTUNITY
We are again soliciting candidates for the summer 2024 session of our fellowship program. Fellowships are full-time training appointments and demand a 7:30 am to 5:30 pm commitment of time, five days a week. It is an intense six (6) month learning program where the fellow shadows an accomplished dermatologist (Cornell-Weil faculty member for over 35 years) throughout the week. Although they are not formally required, the fellows are expected to continue their dermatology training and studies at home and on weekends, with the handbooks and educational material we provide them. The Fellows do not pay any tuition, as this is our way of contributing to the advancement of dermatology education. Furthermore, there is a monthly scholarship stipend of $1,000 paid to help defray their travel cost between training locations. The fellowships are not working positions and are more suitable to newly graduating DNPs (although exceptional APNs may be considered as well). An APN license in the State of New Jersey prior to admission is desirable, but not required. Nevertheless, an active APN NJ license in good standing will be required for the last 2-3 months of the program. Successful graduates of the program may be considered for full-time positions in our practice, although there is no obligation on their part and/or any guarantee on our part, that a position may be made available to them. Needless to say, we favor candidates who have a strong interest in working in New Jersey upon their graduation from the program, as this a way for us to give back to the community. We typically receive 50-70 applications for every session, interview a small fraction of them, and select no more than two.
