Transfer of Credits

Transfer Credit Procedure 

Requests for a transfer of up to 12 credits should be submitted to the Office of Student of Services.  Fill out and submit the transfer of credit form to the Office of Student Services for review.  Be sure to include syllabi and course descriptions for the courses you wish to recieve credit for. 

Transfer Credit Policies

  • All transfer credits must be approved by the appropriate academic dean.
  • All requests must include submission of relevant course syllabi.
  • Transfer credits will be granted for core courses only. 
  • Please note that transfer credits will not appear on your Rutgers transcript until you have completed 12 credits at Rutgers University.

Transferring Credits from a New Jersey Community College

NJ Transfer is a web-based data information system maintained by Rutgers University to assist prospective students from New Jersey community colleges. We invite you to use NJ Transfer to determine if a course offered at a New Jersey community college you attend will transfer to the College of Nursing.

AP Credits

The College of Nursing awards degree credit for advanced placement scores of 4 and 5.  A comprehenisive list of advanced placement exams and scores, and the Rutgers degree credit that is awarded based on those scores can be found at:  http://sasundergrad.rutgers.edu/academics/academic-credit/advanced-placement.

Credit earned by advanced placement is not computed into the cumulative GPA. If you have taken AP tests and they are not yet included in your academic record, please have the score report sent to the Office of Student Services, 180 University Avenue, Newark, New Jersey 07102.
