Accelerated 2nd Degree BS in Nursing
Rutgers College of Nursing offers a 14-month full-time accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing program. Designed for the student who already possesses a bachelor's degree in another field, this program begins in the summer and continues throughout the year with graduation at the end of the following summer.
Program of Study
This 14-month program is fast-paced and intense. The defined curriculum is full-time and requires the student provide complete attention to the rigor and requirements for successful completion. Committed faculty advisors are assigned to the students to facilitate successful completion.

The prerequisites are not required to apply but must be completed prior to enrollment in the program.
Criteria for Admission
- Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university
- Grade point average of 3.3 or higher
- Grade of "C" or better in all prerequisite coursework.
- Acceptable Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) scores from applicants whose native language is not English, or who have not completed their high school and college education in the U.S.
- Admission to the College of Nursing is extremely competitive. Only 10 percent of applicants are offered admission from among a typically excellent applicant pool.
