This is an administrative position, reporting directly to the Dean. In this role, the Associate Dean of Faculty Affairs and Development is responsible for the ongoing mentoring and development of all faculty, including the provision of research and funding mentorship to research-focused faculty. The Associate Dean will guide faculty through the RBHS reappointment and promotion process, assisting and guiding faculty in interpreting rank and promotion criteria, reappointment criteria, career planning, and preparing their tenure, promotion, or reappointment packet for submission. In addition, the Associate Dean of Faculty Affairs will prepare drafts of the “dean’s recommendation letters” as an important aspect of the faculty hiring and appointment process, or as part of a recommended supplementary or out of cycle salary increase for faculty or academic leaders. The Associate Dean of Faculty Affairs will also engage in other such activities as assigned by the Dean.

Academic Leadership: In collaboration with School of Nursing administration, faculty, and staff, the Associate Dean, Division of Entry Into Practice (undergraduate): 
  1. Prepares reports and organizes visits for accrediting and regulatory agencies for the Entry Into Practice  Division. 
  2. Ensures that clear goals and objectives are consistent with those of the School of Nursing and the appropriate faculty are maintained for all programs.
  3. Evaluates student, course, and program outcomes and uses data for curricula and faculty development.
  4. Facilitates development of comprehensive and coherent program curricula in compliance with all national standards.
  5. Prepares/Oversees student schedules and establishes course and faculty assignments.
  6. Evaluates the performance of Entry to Baccalaureate Division faculty and staff, and makes recommendations for appointment, reappointment, promotion, merit increases, tenure, and dismissals.
  7. Fulfills the role of a faculty member in teaching, scholarship, and service.
  8. Provides recommendations on grade grievances and appeals.
  9. Maintains professional demeanor and communications. 


Recruitment and Retention:

  1. Participates in the formulation, implementation and evaluation of admission, progression and retention criteria for students in the Entry Into Practice Division and monitors same.
  2. Interfaces with key personnel and organizations in advancing the Entry Into Practice  Division.
  3. Represents the programs to the public and communicates newsworthy faculty and/ Divisional activities to the Director of Marketing and Communication.
  4. Works with Program Directors to identify recruitment strategies for programs.
  5. Monitors retention and factors associated with changes in retention levels.
  6. Oversees coordination and recruitment of new faculty to the division.
  7. Oversees recruitment, retention, and quality control of preceptors and per diem (PTL) faculty.


Administrative Leadership:

  1. Monitors certification pass rates for all programs and works with  Program Directors to develop remediation plans as needed.
  2. Collaborates with Executive Leadership to manages financial and human resources for the Entry to Baccalaureate Division.
  3. Collaborates with the Chief Financial Officer to prepare annual budget requests for the Entry Into Practice  Division programs and operates within the approved budget.

Part-Time Instructor

The per diem Clinical Instructor in the Center for Clinical Learning is responsible for implementing a program of on-campus clinical learning experiences in the School of Nursing. The clinical instructor may assist CCL and RSON faculty with skills labs, facilitate simulation experiences, and work in tandem with faculty and staff to provide active learning for students in various courses. This per diem position will be scheduled as needed in the Center for Clinical Learning for students across academic program levels.

The Heath Care Case Manager (HCCM) functions to support the Department of Children and Families (DCF)/Child Protection and Permanency (CP&P) in meeting the health care and protection needs of children in out-of-home placement, in collaboration with other staff of the Child Health Unit in that local office.

The François-Xavier Bagnoud Center (FXB Center) at the Rutgers School of Nursing is seeking a full time Education Specialist who will use their nursing expertise to provide education and capacity development as part of the workforce development program teams throughout the FXB Center.

Primary responsibilities:
– Value and deliver high-quality, professional, responsive, and innovative service across all FXB Center grant programs.
– Under the direction of the Program Director, provide technical assistance, training, and capacity building, for drug-user health providers located at statewide harm reduction centers.
– Further develop, evaluate, and improve on-boarding and orientation training, curriculum, and policies for healthcare providers at statewide harm reduction centers.

Qualifications:

A Standardized Patient (SP) provides students in nursing and other health professions with the opportunity to develop, practice, and enhance therapeutic communication, interviewing, physical examination, and non-invasive technical skills under the supervision of the Center for Clinical Learning (CCL) Director, CCL team members, and/or Rutgers faculty. The SP position requires a flexible work schedule on an on-call basis as needed by Rutgers School of Nursing. This is a per diem position with advance scheduling and no minimum hours of work guaranteed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

– Memorizes scenario patient information (e.g., history, symptoms, behavior) and portrays the “patient” in the same manner consistently with different students.
– Portrays a variety of patient scenarios to meet the needs of Rutgers School of Nursing.
– Participates in healthcare-related interviews, physical examinations, and non-invasive technical procedures that may include wearing a patient gown with only undergarments underneath, while on camera and/or observed live through an observation window or video monitor.
– Demonstrates excellent communication skills to provide students with evaluation feedback regarding their performance.
– Provides constructive feedback on student performance using basic computer skills on an electronic platform.
– Demonstrates reliability, punctuality, and dependability in working on a per diem, on-call basis.
– Maintains confidentiality of information related to patient cases, student behaviors, and evaluation feedback.
– Understands and adheres to Rutgers University compliance standards as they appear in the RBHS Corporate Compliance Policy, Code of Conduct, and Conflict of Interest Policy.
-Performs other related duties as assigned

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Training and/or experience in health professions, communication, behavioral sciences, or education is beneficial, but not required. Acting training or experience is useful, but not essential.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Very limited or no physical effort required with minimal or no exposure to physical risk.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This per diem, episodic work is performed in a simulated healthcare clinical environment.
